Special tours at the zoo

Morning experience

Experience the zoo as it wakes from its slumber!
Schönbrunn will open its doors exclusively for you early in the morning so that you will have the entire place virtually to yourself. This tour will take you to your favourite animals and give you a rare glimpse behind the scenes of the zoo. Afterwards you can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Kaiserpavillon. It’s hard to think of a better start to the day.

Animals to choose from: African Elephant, southern sea lion, giraffe, polar bear, giant panda, lion, tiger, cheetah, orang-utan, ring-tailed lemur, squirrel monkey, hippopotamus, koala, rhino, leopard, zebra, wolf, lesser panda, kangaroo, gibbon, meerkat, domestic cattle, penguin, ostrich, flamingo, northern bald ibis, parrot, Ural owl, crocodile, turtle, snake, fish, jellyfish, coral

Select one of our suggested themes that is of particular interest to you, your family, friends or colleagues. Please note that direct contact with the animals is not possible.

Backstage tours

Behind the scenes experience
How do we create a tropical climate in the rainforest house? How do you breed squid? How is the Polarium kept cool for the penguins? On this back stage tour you can choose between the aquarium terrarium house, the Polarium and the rainforest house (currently not offered), where you will be treated to a look behind the scenes.

Duration: 1.5 hrs, daily.
Start: by arrangement
Price: €175,- per tour of the aquarium terrarium house, plus admission,
€120,- per tour of the Polarium or rainforest house (currently not offered), plus admission
Participants: max. 10

Cancellation terms for all events

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made in writing to the following e-mail address reservierung@zoovienna.at.

If you reserve or reschedule a booking:

• up to 14 days (336hours) before the scheduled appointment, we will waive the cancellation fee.
• less than 14 days (336 hours) and up to 5 days (120 hours) before the scheduled appointment, we will invoice 50% of the price (or voucher value).
• less than 5 days (120 hours) before the scheduled appointment, we will invoice 100% of the price (or voucher value).

New dates can only be booked upon payment of the fee for the new date.
